Renovations

My focus has been dominated by ongoing changes required to our home. It's been a long slog but a modest redesign. Plenty of sculptural ideas are percolating away while I'm learning heaps of new skills. It's looking pretty good. There are lots of photos as it's taken many stages. You may need to have a cuppa while they load if you don't have good bandwidth! But it's worth the wait! :o)

Metamorphosed Sandstone Entrance Wall

Finally completed a mammoth entrance wall for a client over summer. Twenty six metres of boundary and entrance metamorphosed sandstone wall.

The Formblock shed is taking shape

Since clearing the space for the shed (2007), completing the walling (2008-9) and having the slab laid (2009-10), I've been renewing the house foundations (separate posting to come!) whilst managing the domestic duties (2010-11).

Now am finally starting the formblock shed. Am laying 6 blocks a day, unless it's a corner...so the kit is manageable working solo. 60 ml of oxide for colouring. Blocks are 7:1 washed quartz sand, cement.

SWELL

Well I've been and come back. Got some good feedback on Bill.

Cleaned him up a bit and set him up at Currumbin. Here he is 'in situ'.
