Weedy eel

So here is my latest work, made at the National Limestone Symposium 2009. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out in 7 days. The eel head is of dolomite (harder) and the base is of limestone (softer). It's a pretty big one 3m x 1m x 1m. Will have more photos once it's 'in situ' at the eel farm.

Weedy Eel

I'm back from the National Limestone Symposium in Mount Gambier where I met many fantastic carvers of stone, especially Silvio, Craig and Greg.

My piece Weedy Eel is the last photo in this ABC digital story.

It was purchased by Paul, a local yabby and eel farmer!

The weed base is limestone and the eel is dolomite (much harder).

More photos to come!
